Let’s be honest—the world is massive. Billions of people. So many who’ve never heard the name of Jesus. So many who are hurting, searching, or just surviving. And here's the truth we can’t ignore:
We will never reach the world with part-time faith.
In Luke 12, Jesus paints a clear picture of what it means to live ready—not casually coasting, but actively serving, loving, and obeying. “Be dressed for service,” He says, “and keep your lamps burning.” Why? Because the Master is coming back. And when He does, He’s not looking for people who were just around faith—He’s looking for those who lived it out.
Faithfulness isn’t a shift you clock into on Sunday. It’s not a side hustle. It’s a full-time call driven by the two things Jesus says matter most:
Love God with all you are. Love your neighbor like they matter.
This is the Great Commandment. And it’s not a suggestion for when life slows down.
The mission of Jesus doesn’t wait for ideal conditions. And neither should we. We don’t get to hit snooze on the call to love deeply, serve sacrificially, and share boldly. We’ve been entrusted with the greatest news the world has ever heard—but are we treating it like it’s urgent? Or optional?
Jesus said He came to set the world on fire. That’s not about destruction—it’s about devotion. He’s talking about a fire that purifies, refines, and spreads. A gospel fire that can’t be contained by comfort zones or church walls.
But fire requires fuel. And if we aren’t living fully surrendered—if we’re not burning with the love of Christ for our families, our neighbors, our communities, and the nations—we’ll never be ready for His return.
The time is now. No more lukewarm. No more waiting. Let’s stop assuming we have “later.” Because people all around us need to see a faith that’s alive today.
Reflect:
• Am I living out the Great Commandment with urgency and intention?
• What parts of my life have I kept off-limits from God's Kingdom purposes?
• Who has God placed in my path that needs to experience His love through me?
Prayer:
Jesus, light the fire in me again. I don’t want to live distracted or divided. I want to love You with all I’ve got—and love others like You do. Help me live with urgency, compassion, and purpose. Use my life to spread Your fire. Amen.
